Pearl in the American Breeds

Pearl was first discovered among the descendants of American Paint Horse stallion Barlink Macho Man, when a golden-colored mare was accidentally registered as a Gold Champagne.

The gene's appearance in his line has been traced back to one of his ancestors, and pearl has also been documented in quarter horses.  We expect to find it in other American-bred horses, as well.
